We will hold a work session on Dec 7, 2021. We’ll start early this month; meet at 6pm*. Stay as long as you’d like. If you can’t make it at 6pm, feel free to stop in at 7. I think there’s more than one hour of work to do!

We’ll spend some time working on elements of the position paper and also cards/communications for contacting precinct residents.

P.S. There’s good info about the Diego Rivera Mural (pictured above) to be found at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

The 7 o’clock time is in conflict with the Buffalo High School xmas music concert.

The June 26th Democrat Round Up is less than 2 weeks away. Let’s show the WY State Democratic Party and Sheridan County Dems that Johnson County Democrats are active and know how to have a good time.

The event offers games for kids and adults, raffles, a silent auction, good food, live music, and even the opportunity to dance, if you are so inclined. And the venue is beautiful! Kearney Hall, located just 15 minutes from Buffalo, has been newly remodeled and the scenery from the large new veranda is stunning.

Several JC Dems have volunteered to help with set up and some are helping by bringing side dishes to share. We can always use more help with clean-up so if you can stay a bit after 8 pm to help with that, please let us know.

To help the most, please call all your JC left leaning friends and ask them in person to join you at Kearney Hall on June 26th. A lot of work has gone into planning and preparing this event, so please come and join us!

Johnson County Dems Leadership Election

Buffalo, WY– Over the next few months the Johnson County Democratic Party and the Wyoming Democratic Party will be electing leaders to forge the way to 2022 elections.

The Johnson County Party elections will take place on March 20, 2021, online, starting at 10:00am. Invitations can be obtained by registering on the Johnson County Democratic Party’s website: https://jcdemswyo.org/zoom.

Election of county leadership will take place in March and state leadership in April. In March, those who make up the voting members of a county’s central committee, will vote for their county’s Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and a State Committeeman and Committeewoman. Any registered Democrat may run for an officer position.

The Buffalo Bulletin has created a 2020 Voter’s Guide. It has some good details, but not much about mail-in or absentee voting.

JC Democratic Caucus Moved to Mail-in Only



Buffalo– In light of increasing COVID-19 cases and public health measures, the Johnson County Democratic Party, with guidance from the Wyoming Democratic Party (WDP), has adjusted its presidential preference caucus to mail-in voting only.

“Adjusting to an all mail-in balloting process provides Johnson County voters with the opportunity to participate in the caucus while ensuring we’re doing our part in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.”

Voters who registered with the County Clerk between March 11 and March 20, 2020 will automatically be sent a ballot in the mail, at the mailing address reflected on their voter registration. All voters must have been registered as Wyoming Democrats by March 20 to receive a ballot and participate in the caucus. 

Two rounds of ballots were previously mailed; voters who previously received ballots but are unable to use or locate them can request a new ballot no later than March 31, 2020 via the form linked at www.wyodems.org/2020caucus



Returned ballots must be received via mail by WDP no later than April 17, 2020.

WY Democratic In-Person Presidential Caucus & County Conventions Suspended

Cheyenne— Wyoming Democratic Party (WDP) Chair Joe M. Barbuto has announced that the in-person portion of the 2020 Presidential Preference Caucus, as well as county conventions, are suspended due to growing concern over COVID-19.

“Our priority is ensuring that people are health and safe. Holding public events right now would put that in jeopardy, so this is the responsible course of action.”

Voters are highly encouraged to vote by mail; caucusing at drop-off locations on March 28 and April 4 is being evaluated. We will continue to work with public health officials, and assess local conditions, to ensure voters’ health and safety.

The WDP is working with our partners around the state and nation to develop a plan that ensures necessary tasks and duties are achieved. Details will be release as they become available.
