Call to Order: 

Chair called the meeting to order at 6:04. Five voting members present.

Agenda:

Agenda approved with no additions.

Minutes:

Minutes approved.

Treasury Report:

Treasurer reported on current financial standing.

Chair Announcements:

  • GOTV calendar- updates to come regarding state party work for upcoming election.
  • County convention- opportunity for local democrats to have a say in how the party is shaped.

Old Business:

  • Report was made on the turnout and success of the WDMSF movie night fundraiser,
  • Newsletter responses discussed.

New Business:

  • March convention- motion made and passed to skip March monthly meeting and combine with convention on March 7. A follow up motion made and passed to allow chair to make final decision regarding which room will be utilized for the event. A motion made and passed to hold the event at 10am.
  • Candidates and election calendar- information given regarding upcoming 2026 election and looking at recruiting candidates to run/ stand for local Democratic Party.

  • None to be discussed.

  • Discussion and planning around Nov 15 movie night fundraiser. Movie synopsis, raffle ticket sales and item coordination, family/child friendly, snack donations requested, concessions open during seating and screening.
  • Foreshortened review of SCC meeting.
  • List of services and resources now provided in Mini-Pantry.

Wyo Dem Legislators Directly Address Hunger

The Wyoming Democratic Legislative Caucus has launched an effort to raise money for the Food Bank of Wyoming!

Our friends and neighbors are hungry. The good news is, we can help! During the federal government shutdown, and heading into the holidays, our community food pantries are stretched thin. Let’s do our part in supporting hungry families by making a donation to the Wyoming Food Bank.

Starting November 1, 2025, $5M in SNAP funds will NOT be distributed to qualifying individuals. Families who typically use their EBT cards to purchase groceries are now turning to food banks for assistance.

📣 Students For Science is a student-led initiative, founded in response to RFK, dedicated to upholding the integrity of science, empowering young people in science-related advocacy, and providing a youth perspective on science-centered issues.

Call to Order:

Chair called the meeting to order at 6:04pm. Four voting members were present.

Agenda:

Agenda approved with one addition, information for potential scholarship fundraiser.

Minutes:

Minutes approved.

Treasury Report:

Current financial standing provided by treasurer. Brief discussion regarding financial donation to state party as well as a note to adjust minor details to layout of report.

Chair Announcements:

  • Information given about new executive director for the state party.
  • Instruc-o-torials: information about minivan trainings available to those who will be doing canvasing.

Old Business:

  • Discussion about Yin and Provenza listening session regarding a general review of the event as well as associated cost of production. Motion to reimburse Sheridan Democrats for Buffalo Bulletin ad passed.
  • Home delivered meals: information given to encourage volunteers to make sure intended hours are documented with JCDems chair as well as the Senior Center so no overlap occurs with routes.
  • Information about final details of WDM Scholarship fundraiser given.
  • November 1st JC Arts and Humanity Arts and Crafts Festival- motion passed to attend and pay necessary fee.

New Business:

  • SCC Meeting agenda on October 26- down ballot nonpartisan voting to be discussed. Further discussion around most effective way to propose information and effort to elected officials surrounding moving this forward.

Other Business:

  • Letter written in Buffalo Bulletin about the listening session.

Floor Announements:

  • Information about Banned Book Week and Let Freedom Read Day action that can be taken by anyone. (Ex. check out a banned book at your local library.)

All proceeds of this event directly benefit the William D. McIntyre Scholarship, annually awarded to at least two graduating Johnson County high school seniors by the Johnson County Democrats. This is a great opportunity to support your local students!

A suggested donation at the door is $10.

A social hour with complementary appetizers will take place from 6:00 to 7:00 and theater concessions will be available for purchase.

When: Tuesday, November 18th at 7:00pm.

Where: Buffalo Theater, 235 South Main Street, Buffalo WY.
Tickets will be available in advance at Margos Pottery. (1 North Main Street, Buffalo WY.)
