Meeting Minutes

May 5, 2026

Bomber Mountain Civic Center, Room 104

Call to Order: 6:00pm. Five voting members present.

Agenda:

Approved.

Guest Speakers:

Representatives from the Buffalo Senior Center presented information regarding the meal deliver program and updated systems they have in place for volunteers.
Additional volunteer information was given for opportunities outside of the meal delivery program. Please contact the Buffalo Senior Center for additional information.

Treasury Report:

Current financial status was presented by the treasurer.

Miscellany from Chair:

Discussion/information regarding dates and places for the upcoming state convention weekend, including the Natrona County Reception Welcome Party taking place June 5th and the SCC meeting June 7th.
Natalie Taylor Ross celebration the evening of June 6th.

Old Business:

Adopt a Highway day was very successful!
Form distributed to necessary persons to file for precinct committee person ballot position.
Scholarship committee to meet and discuss applicants and decide on recipients.
Auction basket for state convention- several goodies have already been donated, as well as a motion made and passed unanimously to spend a set dollar amount on additional local goodies to complete the basket.

New Business:

Democratic Senate candidate Jim Byrd to visit Johnson County- dates to come.
Democracy Summer– Looking for fellows to participate, with flyers to be dispersed to schools and bulletin boards across the county.
External organizing- thoughts and ideas presented from chair and vice chair on how to expand meetings/gatherings to reach more people in the community by way of feeling more inclusive and available. A meeting to be held May 19th for the group to discuss ideas.
Dates discussed regarding the primary election.
