Meeting Minutes

July 7, 2026

Bomber Mountain Civic Center, Room 104

Call to order: Meeting came to order at 6:06 pm.

Agenda: Approved agenda and minutes from the June meeting.

Treasury: Treasurer’s report was distributed and approved.

Chair announcements:

• Two SCC resolutions were passed – one in support of U.S. House Bill H.R.5356 to create the $5 trillion NationalInfrastructure Bank and the second to affirm people’s right to bodily autonomy as determined by a patient and their healthcare provider.

• 2 Cheyenne students are participating in the Democracy Summer Program.

• Election equipment tests will take place on July 15 at 9 am at the County Courthouse. (Greg, Linda & Mary will attend – others are encouraged to help too.)

• The JC Baskets auctioned at the SCC meeting were good fund raisers.

Old Business:

• Scholarship committee will host a movie – Truth and Treason – at Buffalo Theater on Sept. 1st. Please mark your calendars. Social hour from 6-7, movie at 7. Door prizes, raffle, and light refreshments!

• JC Dems have signed up to cover Home Delivered Meals deliveries on each Monday in August.

• Voter outreach and Get Out the Vote plans were discussed.

• Friends Feeding Friends – going well, but could use more people willing to help. To volunteer or contribute money or food, contact Linda Wilson.

Other business and announcements:

• Adopt a highway pickup will take place on Aug. 15th, 8:30 am, starting at Bomgaars.

• Yard signs for James Byrd, Sergio Moldonado, and others are available. Contact Lois Petersen for more information.

• Linda Wilson made the following motion – JC Democrats will set aside $1500 to be used to support WY Dem candidates, by providing up to $300 per candidate whose candidacy is advertised in the Buffalo Bulletin. Motion was seconded and approved.

Upcoming meetings:

• WDP Comms Call – 1st and 3rd Tuesdays

• JC Dems informal gathering will take place Aug. 4, 6pm in room 104 of Bomber Mountain. ALL are invited to bring your questions and thoughts to share and discuss. Light refreshments will be on hand.

• Gather over lunch – meet and chat with fellow Dems on Thurs., July 23, 11:30 at Creekside Café.
