Meeting Minutes

April 7, 2026

Call to Order: 6:00.

Treasury Report: The current financial status of the JC Dems was presented by treasurer.

Miscellany from Chair:

  • Review of mailing current mailing program- a list of issues was presented on existing program with the approved initiative to move to previously used email system for preference of efficiency.
  • June 6 weekend discussed with known details of event shared, as well as the following SCC meeting on June 7.

Old Business:

  • County convention follow up- the group agreed that a thank you should be sent to the attendees. The JC Dem Platform and the work that went into it’s finalization was briefly discussed.
  • Rallies- great turnouts! May 1, 2026 rally brought to attention, to be hosted by Indivisible and No Kings. The group touched on ways to advertise upcoming events.
  • WDM Scholarship fundraising events coming up, April 25, 2026 Arts and Craft Fair booth as well as the Tuesday, September 1, 2026 movie night with the showing of the film Truth and Treason.

New Business:

  • State Convention- Auction basket: ideas briefly discussed regarding local goodies to represent out county to be auctioned off at state convention.
  • Primary election coming up, small discussion around election and the interest in recruiting and encouraging local democrats to run.
  • DNC playbook- new ideas presented and parts discussed involving voter outreach and visibility.
  • Ted Lapis appointed through a passed motion to be the Precinct Committee Person for his precinct.

Other Business:

  • Adopt a Highway cleanup dates proposed with motion made and passed to set it for April 19, 2026 at 10am, with rain date to be set if needed.

Upcoming Meetings:

  • County Party Round Table – April 28, 2026
  • Adopt-a-Highway- April 19, 2026 @ 10:00am with lunch at Creekside Family Fun Center to follow.
